Darcie Nicol Floral Designs blossomed in 2018, sparked by my newfound passion for flowers and floral design during my studies in floristry in the ACT. As I completed my floristry qualification, I immersed myself in the dynamic and creative floral industry, working in a bustling flower shop while nurturing my own weekend venture.
Driven by a love for weddings and events, I offered flowers for workshops and occasions in the ACT, discovering my niche within this diverse landscape. In 2020, I took a bold step, returning to the Bega Valley where I grew up, aiming to make my mark in the unknown. Surrounded by supportive individuals, I turned my floral dreams into reality.
In late 2022, an exciting opportunity arose to share a shop space with the local business Wattle and Hide Homewares in Bega. Now operating from the same shop space in Ayes Walkway, this collaboration enhances the customer experience by combining floral designs with unique gifts.
Within the store, I curate fresh and dried flower arrangements and extend my services to events, funerals, and weddings in the local area and beyond. Specializing in large-scale floral designs and intricate wearable floral art, I find joy in crafting memorable moments.
Wedding floristry holds a special place in my heart, and I proudly offer my services on the Far South Coast, including the Monaro and the ACT. Collaborating with local and Australian flower growers, I continually evolve to provide the finest flowers for each unique occasion.
In 2023, Darcie Nicol Floral Designs achieved a significant milestone by winning the Excellence in Business Award for businesses in the Bega Valley. This accolade, achieved within just 8 months of setting up in a rural town, speaks to the dedication and passion invested in the business.
